Last time we talked about the Holy Spirit reminding us of all truth, verse-by-verse study and topical study.

Sometimes we run across scripture that is difficult to understand. Please dont ignore it. We should read on for context, but always come back and ask the Holy Spirit to give us understanding.
Difficult scriptures were just as inspired as the ‘easy’ ones.
- preaching can only ever be effective if believers are discipling each other. As new believers join with us, a foundation has to be laid. But we cant keep returning and re-laying that foundation. For the church to flourish, the foundation MUST be laid in relationship with the new believers. Clay and Candice will disciple Colton. Some of us should reach out and help that process. As new guests start to worship with us and new members join who dont have family, we build relationships so that discipling process can happen. Mentor sandwich
v.4-6 actually begins with 5:11, continues through 6:20, and has the theme of pressing on to maturity as believers.
v.4 enlightened - cross reference? 10:32 How is the word used there? clue
Each of the ‘and’ objects are found elsewhere in the NT. How they are used there, whom they are referring to, helps us understand what the author of Hebrews intended.
It helps me to look at the first and last of a sentence: It is impossible to do all this, since it would again crucify Christ, holding Him in contempt.
v.6 parapipto = apostasy? fall away? Ezekiel usage - you have sinned, I’m calling you back
Wilderness parallels- they saw the promised land but their hearts turned back to Egypt
