The bible can change my life. Power, supernatural power that no other book has. It has changed my life. This book is more than words, it is the Word of God. So, it has the power to change my life. If you marriage needs change...
I’m going to share with you about a book that if you read it it will change your life.
It is only useful if you use it.
The entire universe was created by God’s word. God speaks and “it” happens-
63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
We are talking transformation. People .... world.
More than Words
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
ALIVE = energy
It judges attitudes of the heart
It cuts to the real issue. Cuts to the core. It can point our what needs to changed and corrected.
The book will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from this book.
You can’t fool this word of God. We don’t like authority. change = productive
You don’t have the power to change you life - if you could have you would have. Frustrating.
The bible wasn’t given to increase our knowledge the bible was given to change our lives. - D.L. Moody
Church has MO of hypocrites and judgement. “Deep Teaching” so I can use it on other people.
The more you attend church without life change the more hypocritical you become. The bible is meant to transform my life.
The culture is right - we hear the truth over and over again and become more judgmental to people around us.
HOW?
God’s Word is living: It gives me new life
Fresh start… begin again? Born again - you get a whole new life.
23 For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
Without the eternal, living word of God - no of us would be headed towards heaven.
We wouldn’t know about heaven, gospel, trust, purpose and plan. We would know God.
God’s Word is living and it gives new life!
He wants you to KNOW Him!
2. God’s Word is freeing: It sets us free from guilt an brings us hope
Hurt = resistment You hurt = guilt | God wants you to be free from the resisment and the guilt.
25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.
If we will read it and embrace it… it washes our mind and spirit, frees us from guilt
Brings us joy!
Psalms
114 You are my refuge and my shield;
your word is my source of hope.
If you don’t have hope and joy. You are not in the Word.
The more disouraged you feel the more truth you need. Don’t run on feeling.
FREE from GUILD, SHAME AND DEPRESSION.
3. God’s Word is engaging: It activates my faith and spiritual growth
I struggle with confidence and courage. Most are afraid… failure, death
Feat and fear can’t exist together.
When fatih walks in you say goodbye to fear.
17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
I can do this! What happened? You were engaged with Scripture. Now, I can deal with the issues of life. You shouldn’t miss. Pray this is a place that people are engaged with Scripture.
Self help books - don’t worry. DUH. It can help you know but doesn’t empower you.
Ill - lead with people and fear GO BACK and read Scripture and get empowered!

32 “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.
inheritance = Ill - Bill Gates didn’t read will. If you don’t use the book
Mental illness / Spiritual warfare
Become fimilar with the will
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
You will be able to engage your purpose! You will live out the life God has for you!
3 things (ill - instruction manual)
Teaches us - Instruction manuals teach you all sorts of stuff you don’t know about the topic (which is why you need one!) same is true with the bible….it teaches you all sorts of stuff about God, and his ways.
Corrects us - When you wonder if you are doing something right, you can go to instruction manual to see. It will confirm whether you are doing it right or wrong. Same with bible!
Prepares us - Any time you read an instruction manual…you are better prepared!
4. God’s Word is illuminating: It shows me the way and grows me
I’m in the dark … Process emtions, relationships God wants to show you the way. God will turn on a light...
130 The teaching of your word gives light,
so even the simple can understand.
99 Yes, I have more insight than my teachers,
for I am always thinking of your laws.
Meditating - read and focus and think about it over and over.
105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path.
You’ve got to move for God to show you the way. God will illuminate the path if you keep walking.
WHAT I NEED TO DO
Study & Learn it!
24 Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.
How do we respond to the problems we are in? BBI, Discover Event.
2. Accept & Embrace it!
13 Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.
3. Apply & Act on it!
17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.
For the Bible to useful I have to use it. Let’s constantly be moving, changing and growing.
Prayer:
God, I want Your Words to be the final authority in my life. I want to begin to study it and learn it. I want to embrace it and apply it and act on it. I believe if I do that I’m going (review points)
We thank you for your Word that can bring transformation in me and us.
