Leading Disciples

Introduction:
The term “disciple” is consistently used in the four Gospels to describe the relationship between Christ and His followers. The word signifies “a taught or trained one.” Jesus is the Teacher and we are the learners. He is not merely a Lecturer from whom we may deduce certain lessons; rather, He bends over His pupils with the set purpose of training them step by step until they become totally identified with Him and His purposes.
DT: The Disciple of Christ is called to glorify Christ.
Aim: We will acknowledge our call to discipleship and lead others to discipleship
We as disciples must recognize a couple things about the role of discipleship as we seek to lead other disciples.

Discipleship Is A Call ()

Matthew 10:1 ESV
And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction.

In our text, Christ physically called each of His disciples to Him.

Discipleship Is Subjection ()
