I hear people say and I read it all the time, that Jesus is coming back soon. I usually see it reference to how bad the world is, how lost the world is, how dark the world is.
I see people nod when I say that Jesus is the only way to heaven, or that you must be born again. I can tell that Riddles Bend claims to believe what the Bible teaches about heaven and hell and repentance and faith toward Jesus.
John 14:6 HCSB
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Matthew 9:38 HCSB
Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
John 9:4 HCSB
We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.
But sometimes I wonder if we are closet universalist. A universalist believes that everyone is going to heaven.
Question: If we really believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, the life, and that no man comes to the Father except through Him, why don’t we speak that more often?
Question: If we really believe that Jesus is coming soon, and that for many it will be too late after that, why don’t we tell others about him more urgently?
I think there are a few reasons this might be the case.

Apathy

REPENT, I don’t know what else to say about this. Re arrange priorities. Fall on your face before God and ask Him to give you a heart for souls. Ask Him to break your heart for the things that breaks His.
Stay there until you have a passion for lost people!

Our Lifestyle and Our Language

One of the biggest shocks to me when I first started going to church, was who I saw there. Some of the meanest kids… Some of the most snooty kids.. Some of the “loosest” kids I knew, got all dressed up, sang the songs, looked good sitting in those pews. That caught me off guard. When I got saved, I surrounded myself with friends who were the real deal… But I wish I had gone to those other kids and shared that I had something that they didn;t.
Sometimes we don’t feel comfortable sharing Christ because we know the things we say, the places we go, and the way we live, and what we share on Social Media are an embarrassment to our claim that Jesus lives in us.
What should you do if you can’t share Jesus with your friends because they know that’s not what your life has been about?
Repent today. Then go to some of those friends and say, I haven’t been living for Jesus like I should, but He has saved my soul and I would like to tell you how He can save you too.

Fear of Rejection

For years I had a saying hanging in my office : Successful witnessing is simply sharing the Good News and leaving the results up to God.
I have never had anyone hostile to me after I shared with them. Many have said no, some had said yes. Some I’ve never seen again, some have circles back around and later were saved.
FEAR.... IT’s a big motivator… What if I say the wrong thing… What if they ask me something I don’t know the answer to.
Let me give you some encouragement.
You can’t send them to Hell #2
Sometimes you will say the wrong thing, but its not as much of a deal breaker as you may think.
You know more than you give yourself credit for, but if you encounter a person with a question, its ok to say I don’t know the answer to that, but here is what I do know. The other thing you can do is learn… Learn the answers to some of the questions you will be asked. Be prepared.
That leads me to the final reason:
