Writer: The Apostle Paul

Time: About 61-66 AD

Occasion: Paul was under house arrest in Rome. He was writing to the town where he was imprisoned for the first time with Silas Acts 16. Paul is expressing his thanks and appreciation to the group of people who stood by him with their prayers and financial support. This church had done more than any other. Paul was under house arrest, chained to a guard. Many of his guards accepted the Lord and Paul will tell of their greetings from Nero's house Phil 4:22.

Theme: Joy chara in the midst of every situation. Paul suffered imprisionment, yet he had joy. This joy is above and beyond what the world can have or understand Phil 4:7.
