Stephen offers our guests to grab coffee and snack (if available—pointing to the lobby doors) announcing we will start worship in 5 min.Worship team in place before Stephen takes the stage10:28am Theme Music begins promptly at 10:30Good Morning Church! Covenant Members, would you join me in welcoming all of our first time and returning guests? ( energetic applause) So good to see all of you and to be here. I hope you have been made to feel welcome today. This church is about walking out this life together in the RADICAL GRACE of JESUS CHRIST. It’s our heart that here a Concord, that you are made to feel “Know, Loved, and that you Belong.” Scripture tells us:‌ ESVbut God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.That means you don’t have to get it all figured out before you come. You come and we figure it out together. Whatever season you are in, we know the struggles of this sinful world…but we also know that our God is bigger than our circumstances.

Good Morning Church! Covenant Members, would you join me in welcoming all of our first time and returning guests? ( energetic applause) So good to see all of you and to be here. I hope you have been made to feel welcome today. This church is about walking out this life together in the RADICAL GRACE of JESUS CHRIST. It’s our heart that here a Concord, that you are made to feel “Know, Loved, and that you Belong.” In fact, Scripture tells us in :‌

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
That means you don’t have to get it all figured out before you come. You come and we figure it out together. Whatever season you are in, we know the struggles of this sinful world…but we also know that our God is bigger than our circumstances.

guest connection

Keep it upbeat
Also, for our Guests we want to connect with you! With that said, I hope you received a program this morning you’ll notice in that program there’s more info about who we are and what we offer as a church. There you will find information about various ministries for the whole family. Also inside the program, along with the insert, there is a connect envelope. Later on in our service we will worship through a time of offering together.
say something to this extent...
During this offering time we will give all of you a moment to fill out the connect envelopes (and they also serve as a place you can give any money or financial gift that you would offer to the Lord).
During this offering time we will give all of you a moment to fill out the connect envelopes (and they also serve as a place you can give any money or financial gift that you would offer to the Lord).
So know you will have an opportunity later in our worship to connect with us and be obedient and pray over your gift (or substitute words: offering to the Lord, generosity, or generous) to the Lord as well. Then simply place the connect envelope in the offering plate as it passes. We desire to connect with you and help you get plugged in.

covenant connection

Now Covenant Members, if you will grab the insert inside your program and take it out, it is promoting some awesome things that we want to highlight so please take a look at that and see how you can get plugged in the various ministry opportunities we have. One way we want to encourage you to get involved is through our GROUPS ministry.
D-GROUPS
(This is what I wrote for Greg…speak to it from your perspective without giving away too much of your testimony for next week. Speak to the impact of now or how God led you hear)
With each generation, we see a widening gap between those following Christ and those following culture. At Concord the Holy Spirit has pressed into us the need to disciple people; teach people, help them in their journey to follow Jesus (something that, sadly today’s church has gotten away from).
Through the Holy Spirits prompting we have commited as leaders of the church to be a part of D-Groups.
D-Groups are where 4-5 people of the same gender commit to meeting once a week off campus and study the Bible together and get into deep community with each other for 6 months to a year.
This does not replace Groups (meeting here on Sunday morning, or Concord U on Wed nights), this is not even a “church program.” It’s about growing in obedience to the teachings of Christ in real (heart-filled) conversation.
“We have a job before us.” Join a D-Group. “Disciple, share the hope of Christ and walk with people into spiritual maturity. Future generations depend on it.”

A CALL TO WORSHIP

Responsive Reading
Ask the congregation to stand and join you as we begin our worship through a proclamation of God’s goodness through His Holy Word in a responsive reading
Instruct: We will be reading from Palsm 98…so follow me here…listen up. I (Dan) will read a passage (it will be on the screen), Then I (Chrisie) will read the next passage (it will be on the screen too)
Then guess who reads the third and final passage? YOU DO! So the congregation will read the 3rd passage on the screen loudly and in unison.
Dan: Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praise! Chrisie: The Lord made know His Salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. He remembers His steadfast love and faithfulness. Congregation: His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for Him. For the LORD has made known His Salvation.
Congregation: For this we come, O LORD, from among the nations, to sing to your name. That all the ends of the earth remember and turn to the LORD and that all the families of the nations will worship before you.
Short Prayer over our time of praising and worshiping through proclaiming, singing, preaching, praying and generosity.

FORGIVEN || worship leader: Cole Pevey || before music begins

Hannah (or Slide Team): Make sure Scriptures are ready to cue up as Cole says, *“The Word assures us*...” not before or too far after…please be alert.
All slides must be changed when the reader begins the last word on the current slide (no delay). Total focus!
We don’t want the congregation distracted or reading the screen premature to the verse be read, nor waiting on the right verse to show up. Encourage your team to pursue this will excellence.

Scripture Reading || Galatians 2:11-20 ESV

by Covenant Member || Vanessa Simpson

Vanessa says: Good morning church, and guests. Welcome to Concord. My name is Vanessa Simpson, me and my husband Stevenprivileged to serve Concord in many different ways. Our son Cody is a part of Concord Kids and he has a blast out there! So we get serve our KIDS ministry (like VBS this summer was great!)
We also have an amazing GROUP (Hey guys!)
*wave at your group lol
Steven and I have been covenant members here for just over a year now. And Cody was just baptized in __________. It’s been a pretty awesome to see the Lord at work in our family (in ups and in the downs). That’s a part of growing in Christ. But we don’t grow alone. We have Jesus and we have each other.
We love our church and how our vision and mission are helping us grow together and with the Lord in deep community.
Our Mission here at Concord is: We exist to connect people through loving community as we introduce them to Jesus and help them follow Him.
This morning I want to share God’s Word with you. Would you please turn in your Bibles or on your device, to the New Testament book of Galatians. We will be reading from chapter 2, starting in verse 11.
If you are joining us this morning and you do not have a Bible, you should see a White Paperback one lying around under your seats, feel free to use that one.
And if you don’t own a Bible, consider that our free gift to you. We will even provide you with the page number on the screen to help you find our texts throughout our worship service.
Only mention the first verse so people won’t read ahead
Hannah: Put up first slide. Page number is already attached.
Galatians 2 verse 11 can be found on page number 566 in the White Paperback Bible.
As I read this over you, please read along with me (to yourself).
Just to give you a little background, this was written by the Apostle Paul as he opposed the Apostle Peter .
As I read this over you, please read along with me (to yourself).
take a moment and a nice slow breath — count to 3 in your head — then READ: Book, Chapter, Verse, then Scriptures.

Galatians 2:11–20 ESV
11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. 13 And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, “If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?” 15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. 17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor. 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:11–14 ESV

Say:
This is the Word of the Lord.
