Creating
We see this action being done in verse 17 where all those who are in Christ are being made into a new creation.
Word for creation used here is the Greek word (
ktizo
) which means to create.
This word is used 19 times in the New Testament and 16 of those 19 are describing the act of creation.
Every time God is the one responsible for the creation.
Paul chose to use this word because he wants his readers and us to know that only God can be responsible for doing something this amazing.
This isn’t merely just some cleaning up act this is a whole transformation from top to bottom.
It’s the removing of the old completely and creating new.
A mere remodel wouldn’t have been enough to save God’s children. A complete recreation was necessary.
UnderArmour work shoes story.
