Introduction

In 4 days, BJ Baldidge, Jessica Baldridge, Lyle Lackey, Lyndi Hall, Jonathan Seaton, Roxanne Graham, Justin Gibson, Gina Coulter, Donna Hamilton, and I will get on a plane to travel to Welkom, South Africa.
We will travel to London, have a layover, fly to Johannesburg and then drive three hours.
We will stay at Restoring Hope.
We will do a vacation Bible school.
There are several different types of mission trips..
This trip is gospel centered.
The enemy loves to push on people that are intentionally sharing the gospel.
He’s already at work.
It is imperative that you pray for the team.
Here are 5 ways to pray and verses to use for this trip.

1. Pray for the people going by name.

There are 10 souls going on this trip. Each person has strengths and weaknesses. Pray for each person to be used mightily by God, to not fear, and be faithful.
1 Timothy 2:1 NASB95
1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,

2. Pray for the “details”.

There are lots of moving parts for this trip in regards to travel, VBS, packing, cooking, keeping track of our travel documents, and many other things. Pray that we will trust God with all of the details and that we won’t worry.
Matthew 6:33 NASB95
33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

3. Pray for health and wellness.

Pray that migraines, colds, stomach bugs, food poisoning, exhaustion, and sore muscles don’t keep us from doing Gods work.
3 John 2 NASB95
2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

4. Pray for unity.

When you go across the world with other people in close quarters we will be tempted to be against one another at times. Pray for us to take care of each other and show love and respect.
1 Corinthians 1:10 NASB95
10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.

5. Pray for open doors.

Pray for special moments.
My moment at Praisefest.
Romans 10:15 NASB95
15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”
