Good Evening turn with me in your Bibles tonight to .
We are going to be coming back to look some more at the life of Elijah, what Elijah teaches us is how the walk of faith works itself out in the life of someone who desires to serve the Lord.
We have seen this process play out in the life of Elijah, First God calls then there is faith/obedience, and then there is a time of testing, then God gives us our next marching orders and it is up to us whether or not we are willing to continue to journey follow the Lord or our own instincts.
We learned that God called Elijah to a suicide mission, He was to declare to the King Ahab who was the most wicked King there had ever been up until that time, that there would no longer be any rain, except for at his command.
This infuriated the King and the Lord commanded Elijah that he needed to flee to the brook Cherith so that God could cut some things out of the life of Elijah.
While Elijah was there the Lord Soverignly provided for his every need, God sent ravens to bring him meat to eat.
After a period of time the brook dried up and Elijah was commanded by God to go to a town called zerephath God told him that he had told a widow there to feed him.
Elijah obeyed and sure enough he ended up in zerephath with the widow, the widow then had to choose to believe God would take care of her since she only had enough food for her and her only son.
She fed the man of God like the Lord had commanded her, and the jar of flour never ran out.
Then the Bible records that while Elijah was staying with them, her only son died.
We then see Elijah respond by praying faith and her son being healed!
That is when the Lord spoke and sent Elijah to confront Ahab and all the prophets of baal, there was a showdown on Mt Carmel which showed who the true God was.
Do you see the end result of all these miracles?
All miracles are to bring honor and glory to the one tru
Elijah is not going to have anyone who lead the worship of a false remain in a position to possibly slip back in and confuse the people anymore.
Then Elijah gets a little more bold in his faith.
Now we have the man of God Elijah commanding a ruthless king!
Do you see how Elijah is transforming?
At first he makes a bold claim God told him to make and now he stands with total confidence in the Lord knowing that God is over Ahab with no
But listen to what he says: there is the sound of the rainstorm
