Processional

“Keeper of the Stars”

Bride’s Processional

“Please Rise”

Opening Question

“Who gives this woman to be married today”

Jeremy and Tania and there families would like to welcome all of you to this special and important day in their lives.
Ken - “Her mother and I”
Tania walks up on stage to join Jeremy

Scripture Reading

1 Corinthians 13:4–12 NLT
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Sermon

Exchange of Vows

Jeremy
“Jeremy please repeat after me”
I Jeremy,
in the name of God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit,
Promise to take you Tania
To be my wife
To have and to hold from this day forward
For better or for worse
In sickness and in health,
To love as Christ loves his bride
To cherish as Christ cherishes his bride
To lead as Christ leads his church
I will love in grace
As Christ has shown me grace
I will love in Mercy
As Christ has shown me Mercy.
I promise to keep Christ the center
Of my life and our marriage.
Until his return or death do us part.
Tania will you repeat after me
I Tania,
in the name of God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit,
Promise to take you Jeremy
To be my husband
To have and to hold from this day forward
For better or for worse
In sickness and in health,
To love as Christ loves his bride
To respect as Christ respects his bride
To partner with you in this life
I will love in grace
As Christ has shown me grace
I will love in Mercy
As Christ has shown me Mercy.
I promise to keep Christ the center
Of my life and our marriage.
Until his return or death do us part.

Scripture Reading

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 NLT
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
You two stand here today as two people joining together in life, laying aside your individuality and taking on the unity of marriage. But you also are both committed to a relationship with Christ where he is the center of your lives and now, because of that commitment, he can be the center of your marriage. Two is always better than one, but three is even better, a triple braided cord is not easily broken. I pray you find your strength in the bond you both now will share with Christ. In the storms of life, he will be your anchor; in the frustrations you are bound to have with each other, he will bring you back together.
So as you braid the three cords dwell on the gospel, dwell on the great sacrifice Jesus has made for you so you could have a redeemed relationship with him but also each other.

Cord of Three Strands

Jeremy and Tania will move over to the braiding station and braid the 3 cords.

Scripture Reading

Ephesians 5:22–33 NLT
For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. And we are members of his body. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
“Let us Pray”

Final Prayer

Father I pray a blessing over this marriage.
I ask that they continuously submit to your will and submit their lives to your plan.
Jesus I thank you for the commitment they have to you and your kingdom.
And that you have redeemed them out of the sin that once entrapped them.
I pray you would use them to advance the Kingdom of God in this community and in their family.
I pray they would abound in grace toward one another and also walk in Mercy and love.
Holy Spirit I pray you lead them and guide them into all truth.
May they be a couple that walks in power and authority
So the Kingdom of hell might tremble and the Kingdom of God rejoice.
Guide them in their marriage we pray. Amen

Pronouncement of Marriage
