The Second Step on the Roman Road
Lat week we saw what step 1 was:
Everyone is a sinner, everyone is a law breaker, no-one is righteous.
God uses the Law to strip man of his self-righteousness inorder to show him in his sinful state.
So the next step is to ask: So what?
So what if people are sinful?
What is God going to do with sinners?
The Second Step
What is meant by death?
Is it just dying and then ceasing to exit?
No, this death is officially called the second death:
The Place so bad its Name is a Swear Word.
Lets set the record straight: The Devil is not in charge of Hell, Hell is not the Devils home where he rules from.
Hell is God’s creation.
God is in charge of Hell, actually more specifically Jesus is in charge of Hell.
Hell is the name given by God to the Prison He built to punish Evil.
Hell was not made for you or me, it was not made for people.
Hell was specifically made for Satn and the Fallen Angels.
We are not meant for hell, God did not create us for Hell, God created man to have everlasting fellowship with himself, to be with Him in eternal glory.
God has not appointed us to wrath, but salvation.
Hell was made to house and punish fallen angelic beings.
Beings inconceivably more powerful than man.
This makes the reality of Hell absolutely terrifying and tragic when people choose to go there in ignorance.
Hell is made for being way more powerful and resilient than you, how do you think your fragile soul will cope for eternity?
Why do people go to Hell?
Because they are sinners (as we all are - Step 1) who then reject the free offer of salvation offered by Jesus Christ.
A trampeling of the precious blood of Jesus, a mocking and spitting and rejecting of the only one who possesses the key to let you out.
You don’t like God?
You don’t like Jesus?
You don’t like His command?
you don’t like Church?
You don’t like Christians?
Don’t worry, God will not make you send eternity with Him or Us, If you avoid His presence on earth, he will cast you from His presence for eternity.
What is Hell like?
Well for starters its not a party.
Those who call Hell a party are no different than those who call an electric chair “old sparky” or a gas chamber a “smoking room”.
It is a unless attempt to make light of the thing that terrifies their soul to the point of delusion and hypocrisy.
What Hell is is Torment.
Not only is it torment, it is eternal torment.
But you wont to know the best thing about Hell as it were…?
The best thing about Hell is that it should scare the Hell right out of you!
What is the strait gate?
Its not trying to be a good person.
