HOW THE WORD OF GOD TRANSFORMS US.
HOW THE WORD OF GOD TRANSFORMS US.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Have you ever wondered at why we go to school when where young and not when we are old.
Learning is in our country for everyone but its not so in many other countries
some times the fees are to high and so only the more inteligent and well heeled would be those to take it up.
Some girls are not educated as they are seen to be of worth in the work of the house.
Wherever learning is taken onboard it propelles that individual into a higher class of people.
Some people are told to get BAs and other such degrees to enable them to have a better chance in life.
but what about the word of God that book that for many years may have sat on you shelf at home unopened and unloved.
where as our degrees and BA s might prepare us for this world, our job our home and the our family.
But so often we look at our shortterm goals and not our longtime future.
Our future after our time on earth is over.
Have you ever thought of what will happen when our eyelids close for that final time.
In no use waiting for that time to come to see what will happen because you dessision will have been made by default if we haven’ t spent some time before .
when ever you buy anything of a considered purchase you will get a manual.
A book to show you how to use it , a troubleshooting part to tell you what to do when the item doesnt work right and most of all there in the bottom of the boxes under all the booklets and the stickers is a gaureentee.
This is a promise from the manufacture that in the case of a fault accuring then they will recieve it back from you.
Here is our lives manual
here is our trobleshooting manual
and here is our manufactures garentee
Last week we saw how David the king of Isreal had found a secret
that was this
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The word of God is that which is written which we know as the bible or it is words that come through the holy spirit.
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
The word of God might be hard to see the difference in our lives although it should’nt lets look for a moment at lives that saw a the difference.
we know from john 1 that the word of God is Jesus
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
so lets look for a few moments at what effect the word or Jesus had on several indiviuals.
Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
but who is Jesus in the book of john we have sayings of who jesus is by himself
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
and finaly
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
this is the kind of effect jesus had upon the people in the time he lived upon earth the holy spirit giving the dumamis the dynomo or power to all these i am
but what about us today all of these i ams should have an efffect on our lives today
the word as we read it the word as it comes by the Holy spirit should bring us into a life that is more abundant
do you know that when you read the word you are being fed by the bread of life
do you know that your salvation through christ has brought you everlasting life
do you know that while you are abiding in the vine then you can bare fruit for him.
do you know that when you walk through the door your walking into a safe place.
do you know that the same word that was able to raise lazarus from the dead is able to bring life into your life and set you free.
this is how the word of God transforms us to be like him as we read as the word is applied to our lives as we let the Holy spirit have his way in our lifes then we shall be changed from glory into glory.
let the Word of God Transform your life today
