Ephesians 2:10 NLT
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Having a Vision Anchors Your Actions

You must have a vision for your life; the significant and eternal ones come from God!
It all starts on the inside
Matthew 6:22 HCSB
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
Having a vision or mission for your life makes hard decisions easier by setting clear boundaries

Jesus Had a Mission Statement

Isaiah 61:1–2 NLT
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
Everything He did was on purpose for a purpose
He wasn’t just for the Jew… He was also for the Gentile
He DID things that people didn’t expect because of His mission
He DIDN’T do things that people expected because it wasn’t part of His mission

God’s Purpose WILL PREVAIL with or Without You

Will you live into your purpose from God?
Proverbs 19:21 The Message
We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails.
1 Corinthians 7:17 HCSB
However, each one must live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the churches.
Philippians 4:13 The Message
Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.
What God starts, He will finish...
Romans 8:28 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Tips to Writing Your Own Mission Statement

PRAY!
Know who you are and who you aren’t
The journey isn’t about becoming anything. It’s about UNBECOMING everything that really isn’t you. (Mike Foster)
Answer these questions:
What is important?
Where does God want me to go?
What does “the best” look like for me?
How do I want to act?
What kind of legacy do I want to leave behind?
Or Manifesto...
I am...
God is...
Together we are...
Ephesians 6:10 NLT
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship. (Louisa May Alcott)
