Vision 2018: Forward Book of Acts Blueprint Psalm 127:1 Psalm 127:1Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. NKJV Introduction: I. Standing for what you Believe A. Protestors of things they are passionate about. Video introduction: B. Threatened & beaten but not disheartened or defeated - Determined to preach the Good News, Jesus is Messiah! a. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a tremendous, wonderful experience but it's not something just to enjoy rather to publish & circulate the Gospel of Christ. b. "One of the special marks of the Holy Ghost in the Apostolic Church was the spirit of boldness. One of the most essential qualities of faith that is to attempt great things for God and expect great things from God, is holy audacity." -A. B. Simpson - Audacity is having boldness, courage… or just the guts to do something knowing it si against the grain or common acceptance. Philippians 1:20-22 (BIBLE) II. Preach this Message Remember this with me: The commission perpetually lives to “Preach this Message.” The Message must always be: A. Without Compromise Acts 8:1A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. a. Compromise is often done in business deals or purchasing something it is when there are mutual concessions or an adjustment of opposing principles. b. Compromise is not an option with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A compromise with Satan is he lies – you lose. aac The Message must always be: Acts 8:3But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. 4But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. NLT B. Without Fear a. The Church was well aware of Saul as well as many others trying to destroy the Church, imprisoning & persecuting Christians yet the Message didn’t change & neither did the intensity of the movement to get the Message out! b. First, the word “preached” actually means “shared.” These were not “formal” preachers, they were accidental missionaries. c. Second, though they were “scattered” or driven out of Jerusalem due to persecution it did not hinder their sharing the Good News. The Message must always be: Acts 8:34The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?” 35So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus. NLT C. About Jesus a. The Jews still have a difficult time accepting Messiah could suffer, so Philip began there to explain to this eunuch. Notice, he startedon “common” ground. b. The message must continue to focus on what Philip shared that day, what “God has done for us in Jesus Christ.” – Salvation – Deliverance – Healing. He preached the same Jesus, he didn’t change one iota. The Message must always be: Acts 5:28“Instead, you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him, and you want to make us responsible for his death!” NLT D. For Everyone a. No stone unturned. No ear not filled with the message of Jesus being Messiah, Saviour. What a TESTIMONY! It was a compliment. b. Peter & John had been commanded by the religious leaders NOT to teach the Name of Jesus, yet their response was, “We must obey God, not men.” CJB III. Pledged to the End Matthew 24:13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. NKJV A. {Read from Chapter one of "Fire on the Altar: Those Who Carried the Flame" Volume 5: Soldiers of the Cross. Read the death of Nathanael.} B. The reason we can do this is because of the resurrection of Christ. - He asks us to: * Repent * Live by Faith * Be Baptized * Be Filled with His Spirit Conclusion: PRESENT THE GOSPEL FOR SALVATION – EVERY WEEK – AND THE NEED TO COME FORWARD IN PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST
