Stand Firm in the Lord

Philippians 4:1 ESV
Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.
DT: If we are to be with Christ in eternity we must remain faithful
Aim: We will be faithful in Christ at all times
Introduction: This verse connects to the previous paragraph. In the previous paragraph Paul demonstrates the power and work of Christ through the resurrection. Now he advises the church to stand in testimony and faith of this work of Christ. Paul exhorts them to Stand Firm, which means to remain faithful. He says, don’t lose hope. Trust Jesus:

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Stand Firm in the Lord’s Presence

Interestingly, Paul makes the presence of the Lord known through the method by which Paul describes the people of this church in Philippi.
My brothers” they are each a part of the family of God. Bound by the blood of Jesus.
Matthew 28:20 ESV
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
