KEEPING SPIRITUALLY FIT
Text: “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” ().
I. Daily Devotions
“Pray without ceasing” ().
A. Many neglect to read the Bible and pray. Because they are too busy with selfish pursuits, they become spiritually lean.
B. We must take time for fellowship with God daily. Victory is assured those who continue in a spirit of prayer. “Pray that ye enter not into temptation” ().
II. Daily Dedication
“I die daily” ().
A. Some dedicate themselves to God but fail to yield completely to Him. Therefore, they become disillusioned and discouraged, often giving up in despair.
B. We must commit ourselves to God daily. The secret of victorious living is surrendering to His will, no matter the circumstances of our lives. “Commit thy way unto the Lord … and he shall bring it to pass” ().
III. Daily Diligence
“But exhort one another daily …” ().
A. Many people are concerned with selfish and temporal pursuits alone. They neglect the worship and work of the Lord.
B. We should be diligent for God. When we keep alive spiritually by attending church, loving the lost, helping others, and witnessing for Jesus Christ, God will not forget our works ().
IV. Daily Direction
“When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” ().
A. Some persist in following their own desires and depending on their own learning. They choose the inferior way.
B. We need God’s daily guidance and direction for every detail of our lives. As we keep our will under the control of His will, we are led by the Holy Spirit ().

HOW TO STAY SPIRITUALLY FIT

Spray, R. E. (1977). Soul-Building Sermon Outlines (pp. 22–23). Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Book House.
Introduction:
Holidays is a time of the year that people make all kinds of resolutions when it comes to their physical well-being. Health club memberships escalate about right now and then taper off toward spring break. Why? People realize that they need to do SOMETHING to get rid of excess pounds or to get them in better shape when it comes to their heart or other health issues. I believe everyday is a great time of year to resolve to getting in shape spiritually.
