Over the last 6 months we have been looking at the the theme of Kingdom Life
1st quarter - Kingdom First
Born for purpose and staying on purpose.
2nd Quarter - the Kingdom is Like
3rd Quarter our sub theme is - Born for such a time as this.
We will be drawing from the examples of Esther and Daniel as to how we can life love life in a way that will bring an effect to the world we live in and be a life that will Honour God.
Can I remind you of our mission that comes out of the great commission that Jesus our King entrusted to us.
Matthew 28:16–20 NIV
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew

Living Waters Church Kyabram is empowered to bring God’s message, leading people into a loving relationship with God, teaching people to be followers of Jesus Christ.

Born for such a time as this.

Our key verses for the next few months are:-
Esther 4:14 NIV
14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Daniel 1:8 NIV
8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?
Let’s set a foundation.
But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
In many regards the story of Esther is a sad but exciting story.
Her journey began long before her winning of a beauty contest to become the queen of Persia.
he queen of Persia. From what would see as troubled and hard beginnings losing both mother and father at a young age she was raised by her cousin Mordecai. We can read in
From what would see as troubled and hard beginnings losing both mother and father at a young age she was raised by her cousin Mordecai.
We can read in
Esther 2:7 NIV
7 Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died.

What can God use?

Anything!
God can use faithful people! It is important that we understand that there has to be more to our witness than faithfulness. Faithful yes! but faithful to the right things.

Integrity.

Mordecai was a man of integrity and was really a wise man.
Your integrity will cause you to be promoted and will hold you when trouble comes
Psalm 25:21 NIV
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you.
Ps 25
Proverbs 10:9 NIV
9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
Pro
Proverbs 11:3 NIV
3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
Example from Joseph’s life.
Genesis 39:6–10 NIV
6 So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, 7 and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!” 8 But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” 10 And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.
Joseph understood what had been entrusted to him and because of the culture of his heavenly kingdom he refused to take what was not his or even allow himself to be in a position where he would be tempted.

Teachability

Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died.” Mordecai was a man of integrity and was really a wise man. Because of the integrity of Mordecai, the teachable heart of Esther and the promise and faithfulness of God the Jewish people were saved. In we read that Mordecai had an understanding and assurance that God is sovereign. He challenged Esther that she was in her royal position for a reason. The choice was hers to rise to the calling and purpose that she was divinely positioned for but even if she did not rise to the challenge God would still be faithful and raise up another to bring deliverance. God is always faithful to His divine plan and it is our honour to be co-heirs with Christ.
Because of the integrity of Mordecai, the teachable heart of Esther and the promise and faithfulness of God the Jewish people were saved.
Proverbs 12:15 NIV
15 The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.
Matthew 4:18–22 NIV
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Mat 4:
Come follow and I will make you.

The Promise

God is faithful to His promise.
we read that Mordecai had an understanding and assurance that God is sovereign. He challenged Esther that she was in her royal position for a reason. The choice was hers to rise to the calling and purpose that she was divinely positioned for but even if she did not rise to the challenge God would still be faithful and raise up another to bring deliverance. Esther 4:14 NIV

God is Sovereign

God has called you to follow him and make a difference where we live and beyond.
Matthew 4:18–22 NIV
