More important than anything any person could know about us, it is vital to know what God knows about us. Our natural inclination is to resist being known by Him and we wonder, how could David say: How precious to me are your thoughts, God! (Psa 139:17)? Clearly for David, what God knows about him from the time of his birth was not threatening, it delighted him! How can any of us be known by God like that, to the point we delight in it? Jesus, God’s one and only Son, was forgotten by the Father and for a time not known by Him. He stood in our place, so we would never have to resist the knowledge of God about us, but instead live transparent lives before Him in the power of the gospel.
