Background: In Chapter 26 we see that David once again has an opportunity to ascend to the throne by taking Saul’s life.
David again refuses to advance the will of God by compromising the word of God.
Saul is a fool and with little regard for the things of God Saul seeks to maintain his kingdom.
Chapter 27 David is again forced to live on the boundaries.
He has to move to Philistine territory and make a home.
This looks like a terseness act but David never lifts his hand agains the people of God.
David is constantly attaching the enemy but never the people of God.
Chapter 27 shows us a very dark side of David these are some of the darkest moments of Davids life.
Because Saul refused to listen to the voice of God to Saul’s great horror he finds that God no longer speaks to him!
God judges sin through His silence.
