Praise ye the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary:
Praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts:
Praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet:
Praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance:
Praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals:
Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord.
Thesis: In all things you should still praise God
Psalm 118:
Thou art my God, and I will praise thee:
Thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:
For his mercy endureth for ever.
Your circumstances don’t change who God is - we praise him because of his identity
When on the run for his life from Saul, David wrote:
I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness:
And will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.
When Jesus enters Jerusalem, he said if the people didn’t praise the rocks would cry out - his character demands praise and worship
In heaven angels circle the throne continually praising God
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
In thy presence is fulness of joy;
At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee;
And my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
