Elijah announced the drought is over and then prayed the rain into existence. He had one sermon, “I hear the sound of an abundance of rain”.
He was preaching faith, and praying for the miracle.
Bowing himself with his head between his knees, he prayed with with fervency. Six times the servant came back with the same report, "There is nothing". The message was unmistakable. We’ve all heard those FAITH DESTROYING WORDS.
The servant kept reporting, "There is nothing". Elijah prayed a downpour in the place where they said there is nothing.
But Elijah prayed a downpour in the place where they said there is nothing.
A week ago last Tuesday night we baptized Jeanie. Jeanie isthe choir director of the largest Baptist Church in town. She already has the Holy Ghost and has the revelation of the oneness of God. Her husband said, "Honey, why can't you just go there to church but not be like them", speaking of the way our ladies look. She said, "No, it doesn't work like that". She has been watching our services online. God came to her in a dream and told her that she was to come to our church.
A couple of weeks ago, she stopped by our church on the way to hers because she just wanted to set foot in her new church and meet her pastor. She wept and said, "You can't imagine how good this feels to just be in this building." A woman of integrity, she went on to her church and turned in her notice for her teaching and choir director positions and will soon be coming to New Life.
Her two sons and her sister were there to see the baptism. The eldest son is a student at UCA. He received the HG last week and Lord willing we will baptize him soon.
In addition, a new young man (20) who has only been coming a few weeks, went to Sr. Camp this past week, received the Holy Ghost, and started praying others through. He came home, brought a friend Sunday morning and prayed him through to the HG. We baptized the young man and his mother Sunday night. Will probably baptize his friend this weekend.
Our local Methodist pastor, who is very well liked in town, stopped me a few months ago, at the grocery store. He said, "I just wanted to tell you that the United Pentecostal Church is doing more to reach the world with the Gospel than anybody!" Since then He has begun studying baptism in the name of Jesus and has resigned his church because he doesn't agree with the direction that his organization is taking. He has visited our church but was planning to move away from the area. We prayed, believing that it was not God's will. He has now chosen to stay in the area. Please help me pray that God will bring complete revelation to him.
This is already a long post and probably sounds boastful. It is only meant to give praise to the mighty God we serve and to encourage someone else. There is much more that could be said about how God is opening up the gifts of the Spirit in ways that are just amazing.
Keep praying, God's kingdom is like a mustard seed. Your church may seem small, but everything that is in the tree is in the seed. God's kingdom is like the little bit of leaven that leavens the whole cake. There are those coming who like the Syro-Phoenician woman, would give anything for just a crumb that falls from the table. While others are fingering and picking at the food, they are going to grab a crumb and receive a healing or a miracle. Everything that's in the cake is in the crumb. Jesus has the table spread!
