Greetings...
I will start with a story:
July 1982, the story of Larry Walters, a 33-year-old man who decided he wanted to see his neighborhood from a new perspective. He went down to the local army surplus store one morning and bought forty-five used weather balloons. That afternoon he strapped himself into a lawn chair, to which several of his friends tied the now helium-filled balloons. He took along a six-pack of beer, a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich, and a BB gun, figuring he could shoot the balloons one at a time when he was ready to land.
Walters, who assumed the balloons would lift him about 100 feet in the air, was caught off guard when the chair soared more than 11,000 feet into the sky -- smack into the middle of the air traffic pattern at Los Angeles International Airport. Too frightened to shoot any of the balloons, he stayed airborne for more than two hours, forcing the airport to shut down its runways for much of the afternoon, causing long delays in flights from across the country.
Soon after he was safely grounded and cited by the police, reporters asked him three questions:
“Where you scared?”
“Yes.”
“Why did you do it?”
“No.”
“Why did you do it?”
“Because,” he said, “you can’t just sit there.”
“You can’t just sit there.”
Kelangan meron siyang gawin...
But it’s crazy…
This is what happens when we are NOT thinking and doing what God wants in our lives...
We may end up doing crazy stuff that may endanger us or other people around us...
And you know what, this can even happen to the people of God.
And you know what, this can even happen to the people of God.
Remember the story of Jonah...
Take note: he is a prophet of God.
God told him to go to Nineveh yet he went to Tarshish
That is when the their ship were endangered along with all people in that ship.
Imagine this: how many people in our churches today endanger themselves and endanger others because they are not doing what God wants in their lives?
When Jesus came to this world, he has a mission. And in the cross before he died, he cried, “It is finished”. Jesus gave his life so that anyone who believes in him will not perish but will have everlasting life.

Now, WHY is it important for us to talk about Evangelism and Church planting in places like Rizal.

Here are some reasons
In
John 17:18 ESV
As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.
2 Corinthians 5:18 ESV
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Cor 5:

The mission of Jesus also became our mission

The Great Commission is not optional for believers… This is not “Great Suggestion”
Matthew 28:19–20 ESV
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19 ESV
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 2
Who knows, maybe you are the only Christian that a person knows…
We are accountable for the people who doesn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus...
Eze 3:18-
Ezekiel 3:18–19 ESV
If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

Sharing the Gospel is a wonderful privilege

Yes, this is a huge responsibility… but it is a wonderful privilege.
Paul explained in 2 Corinthians that
we are Christ’s Ambassadors
we are also God’s co-workers
Our salvation is secure because of Jesus, and we have fellowship in His Body. The Spirit of God empowers us and now, we become agents of God here on earth.
The best thing that we can do for others is to tell them about Jesus

The best thing that we can do for others is to tell them about Jesus

Kung alam mong sira ang isang tulay at dadaan duon ang kaibigan mo… at kausap mo siya sa kasalukuyan, hindi mo ba sasabihin sa kanya?
We have the message of Hope, Peace, Forgiveness, and Eternal life. Sharing this message is the greatest kindness you can show to anyone.
Think back? How is our life when we were not in Christ?
No matter how successful people appear to be, without Christ, they are hopelessly lost...

Acts 4:12 ESV
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
That name is JESUS

Fulfilling the mission gives meaning and significance to our lives

"The best use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts it." - William James
Nothing lasts forever… only the things that was done for God has eternal significance...
Acts 20:24 NIV
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Nothing lasts forever… only the things that was done for God has eternal significance...
Our job, achievements, relationship plans, or goals won’t last forever...
I am not saying that we quit our job and businesses and become fulltime evangelist.
But, instead, let us use these as platforms to fulfill our mission to share the Gospel.
Paul testified:
Acts 20:24 NIV
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Life is worth nothing if we will not finish the race and complete the task that the Lord Jesus has given to us.

WHY?

The mission of Jesus also became our mission

The best thing that we can do for others is to tell them about Jesus

Fulfilling the mission gives meaning and significance to our lives
