In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul challenged the believers to stop being children in Christ and to mature to the stature of Jesus by growing in all aspects.
If they mature, they would not be easy prey of deceit because they would know the truth very well.
Peter wrote something similar in
Read 2 Pe 3:14-18
As you may have noticed, He was warning the believers to be prepared and in guard against those “ignorant and unstable that distort the Scriptures.”
How would they be prepared?
He also gives the answer -> “growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.”

Unfortunately, according to the statistics I mentioned last Sunday:
81% of believers do not read the Bible daily or regularly.
A good diet is very important to the health of the body.
When we talk about diet, we must talk about frequency and type of food.
Regarding frequency: Is eating once a day good?
Once a week?
Nutritionist recommend that we eat at least three times a day; and if you wan to burn fat, five times a day.
Regarding type of food: hamburgers?
hot dogs?
Chips?
Sodas?
(junk food) A thousand times NO!
You need vegetables, grain, protein, and water.
As a healthy diet is good for the body, a healthy Bible diet is good for the soul.
How can you know your condition in this spiritual discipline?
How is your diet?

What is your Bible stature/maturity?
“No other spiritual discipline is more important than the ingestion of the Word of God.
Nothing can substitute it.
Simply, there is no healthy christian life apart from a diet of the milk and the meat of the Bible.”
(Donald Whitney)
A healthy Bible diet is the most important discipline of a disciple because...
It helps us to love God as He wants.
The answer Jesus gave to the scribe who asked Him about the greatest commandment tells us that we must love God with knowledge.
mat 22:37
The heart is weak and deceitful and can fail us, but the mind is the deposit of our knowledge.
It is thru the knowledge of God that we learn to love Him with our heart.
How can you love someone you do not know?
It is impossible.
How can you trust in someone you do not know?
We know Him thru His Word.
God has revealed Himself thru the creation That’s called General Revelation and is available to all.
Thru it, anyone can come to the conclusion that God exists and He is not a creature, but the Creator.
Rom 1:19-20
Thru General Revelation, man only gets a general idea about God.
Thru General Revelation, man only gets a general idea about God.
God has also revealed Himself thru His Word, the Bible, the Specific Revelation.
It is thru the Bible that we get a more personal and specific knowledge of Jesus.
There is no other way that you may know Jesus, but thru the Bible.
It is very important that you have a healthy Bible diet because “the more you know Him, the more you love Him”.
The more you know Him, the more you love Him.
How can you love someone you do not know?
It is impossible.
How can you trust in someone you do not know?
A believer’s faith is not a blind faith!
It is a faith based in facts, and in the knowledge about the person we believe in.
How can you know how much He loves you if it is not thru the Bible?
How can you know His promises if it is not thru the Bible?
A healthy Bible diet is the most important discipline of a disciple because...
It helps us to grow in Christ.
“grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Spiritual growth, growing in grace, and growing in respect to salvation cannot happen apart from the discipline of regular Bible intake.
La Biblia aplicada al corazón por el Espíritu Santo es el medio principal por el cual los seres humanos son edificados y establecidos en la fe después de su conversión.
It helps us to grow in Christ because
Teaching us what God expects.
Growing in grace implies growing in obedience?
Obedience to what?
To God’s commandments!
How can you know His commandments if you do not read and study the Bible?
It is impossible!
The Bible is the Creator’s Manual of Instructions.
Thru it, we learn what God wants from us.
The Bible gives us the instructions for a life that pleases Him, for a life of joy and peace, for a successful life.
Now you may understand the words of the psalmist:
In other words, “I always carry your instructions in my heart to avoid sinning against you”.
If your life is not going well, it may be because you are not living according to the divine instructions.
Equipping us to defeat temptation.
“The Bible will keep you away from sin or sin will keep you away from the Bible.”
Who has not heard that Jesus responded to every temptation the devil presented Him, with the Scriptures?
We have heard time after time; and, despite that, we do not give to healthy Bible diet the importance that it deserves.
Why?
Because we have become hearers, but not doers of the Word!
We have foolishly believed that if we tell the devil, “I rebuke you Satan!” or “I declared you defeated!”,
