Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:12 NKJV
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

In order to find God in prayer – you first have to search for Him.

In order to find God in prayer — you first have to search for Him with all your heart.

We have to make room in our lives to seek the Lord with all our hearts.

Follow the one who took God’s Word to heart by seeking God with all his heart.

Daniel 9:1–2 NKJV
In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the lineage of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans—in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 29:10 NKJV
For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place.
Jeremiah 29:10
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:12–13 NKJV
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Daniel 9:3 NKJV
Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

When it comes to what you desperately want heaven to hear, AND to what you desperately need to hear from heaven — seek the Lord with all your heart through prayer and fasting.

Daniel 10:3 NKJV
I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

“The true fasting which should be recommended to all, is abstinence from every stimulating kind of food, and the proper use of wholesome, simple food, which God has provided in abundance.” Ellen White, Counsels on Diet and Foods, pg 188

Matthew 6:16 NKJV
“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

Ellen White, Counsels on Diet and Foods, pg 188

Matthew 6:17 ESV
But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
Matthew 6:17–18 NKJV
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Matthew 9:14 NKJV
Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?”
Matthew 9:15 NKJV
And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Fasting is adding through subtraction.

Fasting is adding more time to be in God’s presence through prayer because we have subtracted something from our normal rhythm of life.

When you seek after the face of Jesus, you cannot help but see yourself for who you truly are.
