Theme: The meaning and purpose of the tenth plague of Egypt. By taking the life of all the firstborn of Egypt God is showing us that He will not permit them to perpetuate paganism against Him, generation after generation. He will not permit a people to come into His world, use the good things in the creation, enjoy their lives, looking for satisfaction in every other god and denying His true message of Christ, before they will, one day, be cut off. Without God, humanity will destroy itself, so He provides a firstborn, someone who will lead the people to God.
