His Conceit was Destroyed

David had an issue of self confidence. Or, better yet, confidence in his prosperity. Sometimes when everything is going good we have a tendency to rest in the good than rest in God. But do not get so comfortable that you forget that the Lord gives and the Lord can take away. Just a soon as you received you can be on the end of a dire situation.

David was convinced that because God had elevated him so high that he could not be touched. This is why Paul says tells the Corinthians that if you think you stand take heed lest you fall.
