(NASB95)
30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
I want to deal with jesus’ statement to love God will all your mind.
The question become
1.
What is the mind?
2.
Where is the mind?
The mind is the house of reasoning
It is the place that we come to conclusions.
Our thoughts and feelings our emotions
It is the place that our senses are processed
1. Touch (was that hot or cold)
2. Smell (did that stink)
3. Hearing (did that sound good)
4. Sight (was she pretty)
5. Taste (was that delicious)
You could have very strong senses but if you don’t have a mind they are worthless.
I preach often about the mind
Why?
Because The enemy is trying to bring Condemnation into the mind about thing that where done many years ago, feller, loses, pain, breakup, mistakes, sin, abandonment, and regrets.
So here we find life’s greatest battle and that is the battle in the mind and in the thoughts.
Because “whatever control the mind controls you.”
You may not have taken a drink in 30 years but if you think about it everyday….
It is in the mind that man form his opinions for what is possible and logical
Ill say it like this.
If a thing were not assumed possible there would be no purpose or need for believing and therefore one has no energy.
If one believes a thing is out of the realm of possibility than believing is not necessary.
So if the devil is going to confine or limit a person.
He will first confine or limit them in their mind
Love the Lord your God will all your mind
The 2nd question is “where is the mind?”
We must first understand that we are made up of 3 parts
Man is:
1. Body
2. soul
3. and spirit
Watchman Nee in his book the spiritual man says,
The body is the "world-consciousness," the soul is the "self-consciousness," and the spirit is the "God-consciousness."
There are five organs in the body which afford man the five senses.
This physical body enables man to communicate with the physical world.
This is why it is called the "world- consciousness."
The soul comprises that part in man known as the intellect, which makes man's existence possible.
The part of love generates affections toward other human beings or objects.
Affections originate from the senses.
All these are parts of man himself; they form the personality of man.
Hence, they are called the "self-consciousness."
The spirit is the part with which man communicates with God.
With this part man worships God, serves Him, and understands his relationship with God.
Hence, it is called "God-consciousness."
Just as God dwells in the spirit, the self dwells in the soul, and the senses dwell in the body.
So with the
· Body we connect to the world
· Spirit we connect to God
· Soul we connect to ourselves
My body is what you see.
My soul is who I am
And my spirit is the thing that will make me eternal.
So about the soul,
Stephan Charnock says, “that the soul the greatest glory of this lower world.”
Watchman also adds
“The soul served as the linking chain, the seat of man's personality, making it possible for man to exist independently.
The soul is the consummation of the spirit and the body, the totality of the elements within man.”
Watchman
So The soul houses ones emotion and desires.
One thoughts and reasoning.
And house ours all of the senses.
So The soul houses ones emotion and desires.
One thoughts and reasoning.
And house ours all of the senses.
The soul is the place of reasoning..
Where we collect information.
The place where we process thoughts.
It is from there that we communicate with man and with God.
So what is the soul made up of?
The soul is made of
Our MIND – THOUGHTS
WILL – DESIRES
EMOTION – THE WAY WE FEEL
The desire of the devil is pollute the soul by attacking you in each part of your life.
He attacks you thought… (example) what you think about yourself (negative attitudes)
Your will… attracts your desire and purpose (Loss of hope and purpose)
Your Emotions… depression, anxiety, fear
The devil desire is pollute the soul.

11 so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
He does this through our
1.
Our Past (lost and failures.)
2. Through bitterness
3.
And forgiveness.
Making our experiences cause us doubt the truth of the bible
Making us doubt if we even have a future when the bible says,
(NASB95)
Now God wants us to love Him in our minds, with all our mind and He is saying to us..
11 ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Now God wants us to love Him in our minds, with all our mind and He is saying to us..
This is not impossible.
You can love me with your though.
On the inside.
Well God if I am going to love you with ALL my mind/though you have to help me.
You have to heal my thoughts
