Ephesians 4:
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
Anger is not necessarily sinful
God becomes angry
‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’
to declare that the Lord is upright;
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
b. Jesus became angry
And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”
-His anger was pure and justified because it was a concern for God’s Holiness and Worship.
2. Don’t dwell in anger
a. Anger should be dealt with
i. Take it to God
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
ii. When we take anger to God, He replaces it with peace.
-You cannot find satisfaction in anger.
“It may be hidden from conscious sight, and it may be hidden from public view. But it can’t be hidden from your unconscious. That is, unconscious anger, no matter how much you try to deny it, will continue to stain all your interpersonal relationships.”

3. Anger can be a pathway for other sin.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”
Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.
i. Unchecked Anger evolves
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
ii. Instead of Anger, use love and Prayer
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
