Good Evening, so tonight were continuing our study of the book of Revelation and if you remember last time we were together, we were looking at the evidence from and and how these seals directly correlate to what Jesus talked about in they almost line up so clearly that you cant hardly tell them apart.
Basically what Jesus lines out for us in is that as the time approaches for His return that there will be this gradual turning away from the truth, that people will be decieved into believing false doctrines, and there will be many antiChrists and false teachers who would come in and claim that they have this hidden message about Jesus or that they know where He is that He has returned, but Jesus says dont believe them.
Then as you look at the first seal we see the picture of this antichrist coming riding on a white horse, he comes riding on a white horse in order to imitate what Jesus will do when he returns, but he is a counterfiet because he was given authority by the beast later in the book of Revelation, but we will learn more about that later.
The next thing Jesus says will begin taking place is that there will be wars and rumors of war, nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. We also allowed the Bible to show us that these events will be gradual and will increase in intensity and frquency as we approach what is known as the day of the Lord. That day in which Jesus will return and call His church to be with Him and He comes to judge the Earth and all who remain who refused to trust in Him with the time they were given.
This matches up perfectly with the second seals mentioned in
Revelation 6:
When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” Then another horse went out, a fiery red one, and its horseman was empowered to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another. And a large sword was given to him.
Next in we saw that Jesus said that
For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
So we have famines and Earthquakes taking place more frequently and this matches up once again with
Revelation 6:5
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and there was a black horse. The horseman on it had a set of scales in his hand. Then I heard something like a voice among the four living creatures say, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius —but do not harm the olive oil and the wine.”
This horsemen on the black horse represents widespread death, death from Earthquakes and he also brings with him the judgment of high food prices we talked about how in these days it would not be uncommon for you to pay 200 dollars for one loaf of bread which is the equivalent to what is being mentioned here by Jesus.
“Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name. Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come.
Matthew 24:9-
This also matches up solidly with the next seal mentioned in
When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the people slaughtered because of God’s word and the testimony they had. They cried out with a loud voice: “Lord, the One who is holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?” So a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told to rest a little while longer until the number would be completed of their fellow slaves and their brothers, who were going to be killed just as they had been.
Revelation 6:9-
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:
I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Revelation 6:12
The sun and the moon being turned into darkness is what initiates the Day of the Lord, this happens for the great and terrible day of the Lord. So when the sun and moon are darkened thats what brings us into the Day of the Lord. Now I believe the day of the Lord is a literal day, I am not saying it is a literal 24 hours period I am saying it is an actual date on the Lords divine calendar.
I dont think this represents a long period of time, I mean the Day of the Lord is a specific day. That day is characterized by total darkness of the sun, moon and stars, its characterized by Gods wrath being poured out. This is the beginning of the wrath of God being poured out because we proved when we looked at the 5th seal that Gods wrath has not yet begun to be poured out, because it refers to people being persecuted for thier faith in Jesus. Im sorry but god is not going to do that to His church.
But now they say the great and terrible day is come, meaning it has just now arrived at this time. Now according to when the sun and moon are darkend Christ comes in the clouds and were gathered together unto him, and this is a great day to us because we see that as believers in Jesus Christ we are not bound to face the wrath of God.
Now look they say in
and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Revelation 6:16
So they are afraid of they are fearing the wrath of the Lamb and they are wanting to be hidden from the face of Him who sitteth on the throne. Now Jesus Christ said that this is when the trumpet shall sound and the elect or the church will be gathered together unto Himself. Thats why there’s a great multitude of all nations and kindreds that appear instantly before the throne of God in Heaven in chapter 7 it says they came out of tribulation.
Now lets just quickly go back and look at a few Day of the Lord passages in the OT. Go back to , now remember in the NT the Day of the Lord is characterized by the sun and moon being darkened the stars falling and this day of judgment this day of the Lord has been pictured for us throughout the Bible.
Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand!
It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
Therefore all hands will be limp,
Every man’s heart will melt,
And they will be afraid.
Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them;
They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth;
They will be amazed at one another;
Their faces will be like flames.
Isaiah 13:6-
So far we see that people are howling they are wailing, and it speaks about people being afraid and it refers to them as a woman in labor, this is the same wording Jesus uses in and in .
For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
1 Thessalonians 5:3
But notice what he says next:
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
Did he says dont worry youre not even gonna be here? you got raptured in chapter 4… no he said you are not in darkness that that day should overtake you as a thief
You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
He didnt say your not going to be there, He didnt say that day is not going to overtake you at all, no he said that day will not overtake you like a thief and it will not overtake you as a thief because youll be watching.
Behold, the day of the Lord comes,
Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger,
To lay the land desolate;
And He will destroy its sinners from it.
For the stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not give their light;
The sun will be darkened in its going forth,
And the moon will not cause its light to shine.
“I will punish the world for its evil,
And the wicked for their iniquity;
I will halt the arrogance of the proud,
And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
Isaiah 13:9-
This is like the mighty men and the captains and the rich men and the chief captains and they are just wailing because of their fear. They are not gonna be so tough at that time.
I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold,
A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.
Therefore I will shake the heavens,
And the earth will move out of her place,
In the wrath of the Lord of hosts
And in the day of His fierce anger.
So what do we see in that passage?
Gods wrath, and anger. The destruction of the wicked, sun, moon and stars are darkened Heavens being shaken and it was like a woman being in labor. What do we see in … an Earthquake sun and moon being darkened stars falling from Heaven.
Alas for the day!
For the day of the Lord is at hand;
It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.
Joel 1:15
They run to and fro in the city,
They run on the wall;
They climb into the houses,
They enter at the windows like a thief.
Joel 2:9
Joel 2:10-
The earth quakes before them,
The heavens tremble;
The sun and moon grow dark,
And the stars diminish their brightness.
The Lord gives voice before His army,
For His camp is very great;
For strong is the One who executes His word.
For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible;
Who can endure it?
“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:
Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
So what do we see? God’s wrath the wicked being destroyed, the sun and moon darkened Heaven and Earth shaken, he mentions a thief again. Clouds and darkness pillars of fire, all the same elements keep coming up over and over again.
Amos 6:18
Woe unto you that desire the Day of the Lord to what end is it for you?
The wicked being destroyed and total darkness
The great day of the Lord is near;
It is near and hastens quickly.
The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter;
There the mighty men shall cry out.
That day is a day of wrath,
A day of trouble and distress,
A day of devastation and desolation,
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
A day of trumpet and alarm
Against the fortified cities
And against the high towers.
“I will bring distress upon men,
And they shall walk like blind men,
Because they have sinned against the Lord;
Their blood shall be poured out like dust,
And their flesh like refuse.”
Neither their silver nor their gold
Shall be able to deliver them
In the day of the Lord’s wrath;
But the whole land shall be devoured
By the fire of His jealousy,
For He will make speedy riddance
Of all those who dwell in the land.
Zephaniah 1:14-
Sound familiar?
I mean this is so clear now that we have established that the sun and moon being darkened is the day of the Lord then we can summize that anything after the 6th seal is not the tribulation, the tribulation is over and now Gods wrath begins.
For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
Revelation 6:17-7:
So have the Earth and the trees been hurt yet? No
He has not yet poured out His wrath yet, He has not rained down fire and brimstone yet, but what does He do in chapter 8?
When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.
Revelation 8:
Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.
Revelation 8:5
So all of Gods wrath comes after the tribulation.

After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
Revelation 7:1
Now chapter 7 picks up right where chapter 6 left off, so we see that the rapture happens after the tribulation, but before the day of the Lords wrath, and thats why we have chapter 7 chapter 7 clearly lays out a window of time where there is a shifting the day of the Lord has come but in order for that wrath to begin its outpouring there has to be time for a rapture to occur.
the 6th seal has been opened the sun and moon have been darkened the stars have withdrawn their light and the people of the Earth are wailing for the great day of HIs wrath has come and who is able to stand.
Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,
saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
So right there He says before the wrath is poured out before the Earth and seas and the trees are hurt we must first seal the servants of our God in their foreheads, so this fits perfectly in line. He is about to pour out the wrath in chapter 6 but then in 7 right before he does he says wait a minute I gotta take care of my kids.
The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
This is the first trumpet.
Then when we get to the second trumpet he pours out His wrath on the seas. But what happens in the middle?
Chapter 7 should contain a rapture
After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
Now the four winds of the earth, what does this refer to well there are 4 compass directions, North, south, east and west. Many people have misunderstood this phrase four corners because they do not understand the word corner.
They will say well obviously he is not talking about the Earth because the Earth is round and it doesnt have corners. When we think of a corner we think of two lines coming together and meeting at an angle, but if the writer of the Bible thought the Earth was flat or that is was a big squre that wouldnt really make any sense.
The Bible makes it very clear that the Earth is round, why cover this?
You may think this is crazy but with all of our knowledge there is a very large movement going on among young people called flat Earther’s, that actually believe the Earth is flat. But the Bible clearly says the Earth is round.
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
So here it says the circle of the Earth.
Now look at I am going to show you how the word corner is used in the Bible. It does not only mean where two lines come together at the edge of a square.
Leviticus
The priest will reexamine him on the seventh day. If it has spread further on the skin, the priest must pronounce him unclean; it is a skin disease.
You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard.
Leviticus 19:
Our head is not flat its not square it is a sphere just like the Earth is a sphere. The Earth have four corners, our head has four corners.
The Earth is set up into quadrants in the Bible or sections. Were talking about the four major regions of the Earth.
After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,
saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
Now look there are four angels that are going to harm the Earth but not before they protect the servants of God by marking them on thier foreheads.
And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:
Revelation 7:5
of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed;
he specifically lists off 12 individual tribes here, now before we go into the identity of the 144,000 lets ask the question: why are these 144,000 being sealed?
What is this seal going to do for them.
First look at then were going to look at .
Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
Revelation 9:3

So what did we see in revelation 9, we see these horriblke locusts that have the sting like a scorpion and they are going to spend five months torturing and tormenting the men who dwell upon the Earth, that in those days men will desire to be dead rather than to experience this harsh torment. But notice who are the locusts leaving alone?
the locusts are not tormenting those who have the seal in their foreheads. so the purpose of the 144,000 being sealed is to cause them to be immune from the judgment of God, from these plagues of His wrath that are coming.
Ezekiel 9:
and the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”
So in Ezekiel he talks about putting a mark on their forheads of those who are upset over the wickedness in their nation, you know they are not the ones participating in it. They are upset about it, He says lets put a mark in their foreheads to protect them from what I am about to do.
To the others He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity. Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple. Then He said to them, “Defile the temple, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” And they went out and killed in the city.
So in God is slaughtering the wicked people of the land. Its just really a vision he is seeing and in this vision anyone who has the mark on the foreheads is spared from the wrath. This is what is alluded to in and , basically this is the same type of event.
Now here is what is interesting about I believe the antichrist will use this passage to justify his mark of the beast that goes on the forehead. you see the devil is a counterfitter, in the last days many will come and preach another gospel.
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
So the devils gospel is not a different gospel it is the true gospel perverted. So the devil is constantly taking what God says and what God does and he is constantly corrupting it twisting it perverting it. He is the master counterfitter.
I believe he will use the Bible as a proof text to kill whoever does not recieve the mark.
This is what satan does, you see the best lie always has a little bit of truth in it doesnt it. If you have a lie that has no truth in it no one is going to believe but if you mix in enough truth you can deceive someone.
I mean think of it if I am going to launder money, I a int gonna use monopoly money right.. I am going to find the closest thing I can to the authentic.
So the devil is constantly doing this
WHO IS THE 144,000?
We have already established 144,000 are going to be on this Earth while the wrath of God is being poured out on the Earth, because while these locusts are stinging people they are immune from that.
WHO ARE THEY?
When the 12 tribes of Israel were untied together into one kingdom they were neverr called Jews.
The first time the word Jews is used in the whole Bible is in
Im gonna show you this is not the 12 tribes of the children of Israel.
When Israel had his 12 children they became tribes and if you remember they went down into Egypt where they became a great nation. then they came out of Egypt then they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years then they inherited the promised land, then they were ruled by judges for 100 years then they said give us a king.
SAUL 1st- 40 years
David 2nd- 40 years
Solomon 3rd- 40 years
So these 3 kings reigned over the 12 tribes, but after Solomon died his son Rehaboam became king and what happened? 10 tribes rebelled against rehoboam and so Solomon was the last king to reign over all the tribes.
Because Rehoboam only reigned over the southern kingdom, and the other 10 broke off and formed their own nation. From then on you have the nation of Israel and the nation of Judah.They never reunited they remained separate nations from then on out.
Israel was the northern, and judah was the southern kingdom, now the southern kingdom was mainly the tribe of judah. which is why the southern kingdom took on the name judah. But I want you to listen very carefully foillow me.
the southern kingdom did contain people from other tribes.
But because the primary tribe of the southern kingdom of Judah was of the tribe of Judah that kingdom just became known as judah.
So all throughout the OT you will see a distinction between the kingdom of Judah and Israel.
2 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES
But when we refer to the tribe of Judah it primarily consited of the tribe of Judah but it also had simeon, and many of the levites. When this Northern kingdom turned away from the truth many from the northern kingdom just came down and joined up with Judah so they werent in opposition to God.
when the Northern kingdom went head first into baal worship manyu more came down and linked back up with Judah.
In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, Ahaz the son of Jotham, king of Judah, began to reign.
2 Kings 16:
Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not do what was right in the sight of the Lord his God, as his father David had done. But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel; indeed he made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out from before the children of Israel. And he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.
2 Kings 16:
So those verses was just telling us that Ahaz from the tribe of Judahh was involved in alot of wickedness.
2 Kings 16:5
Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to make war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome him.
At that time Rezin king of Syria captured Elath for Syria, and drove the men of Judah from Elath. Then the Edomites went to Elath, and dwell there to this day.
So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.”
So get the picture here Syria and Israel are teaming up to fight Judah.
He uses Jews to dilineate the southern from the northern.
Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the Lord.
However every nation continued to make gods of its own, and put them in the shrines on the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in the cities where they dwelt.
144,000 are the people who are alive and still from these tribes and honor and believe in what they are seeing and they will be sealed but because of their years of wickedness they will have to go through some of the wrath of God but as teaches even thought the Israel has been cut off their cutting off is not total.
2 Kings 17:28
I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”? But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.
What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Just as it is written:
“God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day.”
And David says:
“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense to them.
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,
And bow down their back always.”

But in these days this grace mentioned above will happen and there will be many from Israel who will begin to call on the name of the Lord.
They will then be sealed but at this point the will have to face the 5 months of being tormented by these locusts, but they are immune.
