God’s Plan

Creation to Creation - in between accept Christ
Israel did not, given chances
Now the church is God's plan

Israel -

Jesus Comes in Person

“The Kingdom is at hand...”
Learn the lesson that Israel missed
How urgently would you tell someone something life-changing

- Found Treasure

Stock certificate - $5 at auction, worth $130M
Unexpected

Search for buried treasure - $60B under the ocean
SAVING FOR SOMETHING IMPORTANT
Knows what he is looking for
Treasure hunters KNOW it’s there

Urgency in both cases

ur·gen·cy 1. importance requiring swift action. 2. an earnest and persistent quality; insistence.

1. importance requiring swift action.

2. an earnest and persistent quality; insistence.

Stumbled upon, but knows it when he sees it
Sold all, spared no cost to buy the field, knowing the worth of the treasure
Searched for, knows it when he finds it
Sold all, spared no cost to buy the pearl (ONE pearl), knowing the worth

Jesus seeks all

Urgently!

All will be gathered (judgment)

“Good” fish - believers (not related to works, rather ‘keepers’)
“Bad” fish - unbelievers (not related to works)
Similar to wheat and tares - sorted later, after allowing to grow together (here, fish together for now, but not later)

This judgment is certain - very certain

How URGENTLY do we seek God?
Salvation
Sanctification
What about the cost? What is the cost to obtain the Kingdom
Nothing, and Everything
Everything
Salvation is free - BUT, must repent, give up self-worship and look to Jesus
Following Christ costs everything - must die to self, literally a new creation, so life is lived for Christ
Weeping and gnashing of teeth - Hell is real, Hell is sufficient for unbelievers, and HELL IS AVOIDABLE!!

Do You Recognize the Treasure?

How did you come to know Christ? Stumble upon? Searching?
When you share Christ, realize some are searching, some are not

Incredible, impossible, awesome - to know what we’ve found - and to be EXCITED

True Believer

Excited to have found Christ
Has died to self, “sold” all, “sold out” - given everything for this treasure, in order to follow Christ
THERE IS NO HALFWAY
Revelation 2:1–7 NASB95
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this: ‘I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false; and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary. ‘But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. ‘Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent. ‘Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’
(?) - left (sent away) first love
