1And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

2And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

·         Disciples never questioned that the colt would be there.  Why?  After you’ve spent enough time in His presence, you’ll begin to say, “how come?” less and less and “Which way, God” more and more

·         Purpose of the colt comes out of 1 Kings1:38-40

o       A colt symbolizes humbleness

o       An unused colt symbolizes that it had been set apart for Godly use

o       It represented the procession of the king

1 Kings 1:38-39 (King James Version)

38So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.

39And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

3And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

·         “The Lord” – Master of the house

·         When God sends you out to do His will, you don’t go under your authority but under the authority of the Master and as the Master, He has rule and charge over everything.  Romans 6:18 says, “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness”.

4And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

5And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

6And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

·         When the enemy is all around me

·         When temptation comes knocking on my door

·         When problems of the world threaten to creep in and steal my joy, I speak the name which is above every name, JESUS!

7And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

8And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

·         Hosanna – coming from Psalm 118:25-29

25Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

26Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

27God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

28Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

10Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

·         Send the Kingdom,

·         Restore us to our sin free state

·         Take away all pain

·         Take away all sickness

·         Take away all cancer

·         Take away all wars and rumors of wars

Hosanna in the highest, Lord God let your kingdom come!

This passage is called the Triumphal entry because the KING of Glory was riding in to claim back His kingdom.  Not a natural kingdom but His spiritual kingdom.

And I thank God, because He had His triumphal entry, every one of us can have ours too.  How do we get our triumphal entry? Well, I’m glad you asked.  So, let me answer w/ a story:

3 friends met everyday at little restaurant for lunch.  There was a Tailor, a Banker and little ole country Preacher.  One day they saw a homeless man strung out on drugs passing by and the Tailor said, I’ll bet I can fix that man up.  He went out and got the man a $1500 custom made pinstripe suit w/ matching alligator shoes.

A few days later, the 3 friends are back at the restaurant and the homeless man walks by again.  All tore up

Banker

A few days later, the 3 friends are back at the restaurant and the homeless man walks by again.  All tore up

Preacher whispered in the man’s ear

A few days later, the 3 friends are back at the restaurant and the homeless man walks by again.  His head is held high, hair combed, shirt tucked in his pants, A Bible tucked under his arm.

The 2 friends said to the preacher, we did all we knew how to do to fix that man up, what did you say?  The Preacher replied w/o hesitation and said, I told him Jesus loves you.

For everyone that believes that Jesus is the son of God, We can enter His gates w/ thanksgiving and into His courts w/ praise.  If your saved today shout unto God w/ the voice of triumph! But if you don’t know Him…..
