Prayer

Pray Simply
Youtube video
Martin Luther - “The fewer the words, the better the prayer.”
Romans 8:26 ESV
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Read the Word
Read the Word
Why is this important? How could this help us in our prayer?
We get to know God through reading
Pray the promises of God
We get to know ourselves
Make Scripture reading and prayer interchangable
E.g.
Thank God for His promises
Philippians 4:6 ESV
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
This is how I start most of my days....quoting certain promises from God!
The words we speak have power
If there are certain promises of God that you have a hard time believing, just begin thanking Him for them, and over time your faith is going to grow
Pray everyday

- Pray without ceasing
1 Thessalonians 5:16–17 ESV
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
The more you do it the more it becomes a part of your life
Prayer is not a spiritual insurance policy that we only use when crisis happens
Most Important Ingredient in Prayer: God
Prayer has less to do with the specifics of how we say what we say, and more to do with the one to whom we are saying it.
