1. Walk by the Spirit
Conduct your manner of life in dependence on the Holy Spirit.
This is a command (imperative).
It is the only way to live the Christian life.
We must acknowledge our need for the Lord’s guidance.
2. Be Led by the Spirit
If you are led by the Spirit you will be going against the flow of the culture.
What does it look like to be led by the spirit?
The works of the flesh are what we produce:
The works of unbridled desire: (adultery) sexual immorality (pornea), impurity (uncleanness), promiscuity (debauchery - no restraint).
The works of spiritual sin: idolatry and sorcery (pharmakia).
The Fruit of the Spirit
Works are what we do in our own effort, fruit is what the Spirit produces in us as we follow Him.
The totality of the life that the Spirit produces in the believer.
It is not different fruits, but one fruit that is characterized by nine qualities.
Love - agape
Joy - no matter the circumstance
