The Model of Discipleship

Mark 9:49-50

I. Discipleship incorporates trials. (1 Peter 1:7)

Every one shall be salted with fire. Whether good or bad, we find that the un just will be salted with the fire of hell.

For us it’s the fire of conformity to the Word of God.

II. Discipleship is an acceptable sacrifice to God.

A. The very term disciple means one who is under discipline.

B. Even our bodies are to be a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1)

III. Discipleship is work in progress, moving forward.

Have salt in yourselves.
