Introduction
Greetings...
It doesn’t take long, when a great tornado comes through, to determine which houses were built on solid foundations and which ones were not.
When I went to help my wife’s family that had been hit by the last Moore tornado you could see many houses gone and all that was left was the foundations.
Most were right were they were supposed to be but not all of them stood firm as some were cracked at even missing.
Jesus, in His great Sermon on the Mount, spoke about the importance of building your house on the proper foundation.
Luke
Without the proper foundation our house will simply be “Gone With The Wind.”
The Wise & Foolish Man’s Foundation
Every person is building a life.
A life that will eventually face the chaotic storms brought on by the sin of this world.
A life that will be forced to respond these storms.
The question is, “what foundation are we building our lives on?”
The most popular foundation happens to be the foolish foundation.
A great foundation that allows for all these things has several requirement.
This foundation is built upon childish desires.
This foundation is built upon emotions.
It must be square as everything relies on the other.
It must be solid but still able to adapt to the shifts of the earth beneath it.
This foundation is built upon a hate of knowledge and love for ignorance.
Prov
This foundation thinks it is on solid ground.
The least popular foundation is the wise foundation.
This foundation is built upon maturity.
Eph
This foundation is built upon truth.
This foundation knows it is solid ground.
Summery
There are two foundations to choose from, the wise or the foolish but only one of those will we built our lives upon.
Make certain you are choosing the wise foundation and not the foolish one.
The Wise & Foolish Man’s House
The foolish foundation leads to a poorly built home.
When we built upon a foolish foundation we end up building a house not secure but full of problems and no matter how hard we try to make the house great it simply won’t happen.
A house built on a foolish foundation will find itself constantly struggling with spiritual matters.
They will struggle in their prayer life.
They will struggle with their emotions.
Pr
They will struggle with their attendance.
Heb
The house built upon the foolish foundation can’t withstand the trials and tribulations of life and their spiritual walk with God will suffer because of it.
Lk
The wise foundation leads to a solidly built home.
A house built on a wise foundation will never truly struggle with spiritual matters.
Why is this the case, because the house built on the firm foundation of Christ always has a foundation that will keep them strong.
When they struggle spiritually in their prayer life and start to fall they land on a solid foundation which keeps them from sinking anymore and forces them to rise up and build again.
When they struggle spiritually with their emotions and start to fall they land on a sold foundation which keeps them from sinking anymore and forces them to rise up and build again.
When they struggle spiritually with their attendance and start to fall they land on a firm foundation that builds them back up.
The house built upon the wise foundation can withstand the trials and tribulations that come its way and will even grow stronger because of them.
Summery
More people are going to choose the fools foundation and built a shoddy house than the wise foundation and a solid one.
Conclusion
If our foundation is anything other than God and His Word then it doesn’t matter how pricey the materials or how good the carpenter our house will not withstand the storms of life.
It’s only when we tear down everything including the faulty foundation and start over with the right foundation that we will be sound, strong, and solid spiritually.
