ENCOURAGEMENT

Purpose 1 Thessalonians was written:

to encourage the church to stand stead fast against persecution

Paul encourages the Church by doing four things.

He commends their faith and love and hope.

1 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV 1900

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

2. He encourages the church to stand stead fast against persecution and live holy lives

3. He reinforces the great hope of the Lords return and ressurrection of those who have alreadt passed on.

4. He encourages us to encourage each other

1 Thessalonians 5:11 KJV 1900

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
