Dehydration
Texas heat - dry and thirsty land.
Just as our bodies can be dehydrated, so can our spirits.
I wonder how many of us have not quenched our spiritual thirst in some time?
David was in the wilderness away from the Ark of God and the Tabernacle.
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
How do we combat spiritual dehydration?
Earnestly seek God.

Feast of Tabernacles
The Feast of Tabernacles was celebrated with certain festival rituals. One was a solemn procession each day from the temple to the Gihon Spring. A priest filled a gold pitcher with water while the choir sang Isaiah 12:3. Then they returned to the altar and poured out the water. This ritual reminded them of the water from the rock during the wilderness wanderings
Tom Constable’s Expository Notes on the Bible The promise of the Spirit 7:37–44
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters. Joyously draw water from the springs of salvation.” This was such a happy occasion that the Mishnah stated, “He that never has seen the joy of the Water-drawing has never in his life seen joy.”
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
This was such a happy occasion that the Mishnah stated, “He that never has seen the joy of the Water-drawing has never in his life seen joy.”
The last day was the greatest day of the feast according to Lev 23:36.
For seven days you shall present food offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.
It was at this feast at the last day that Jesus stood up...
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
Jesus offers salvation to all.
Remember Is 12:3 - the well of salvation.
When we seek after God, give Him praise, and come to Christ, we will not be dry and thirsty.
As believers we should never be spiritually dry. Instead we should be full to the brim and overflowing.
Christ is the fountain of living waters.
We are living in culture that spiritually is dry and thirsty.
