WHO IS THIS?

Mark 4:35–41 AV

And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

They witnessed 1st hand how he handled a storm

And they asked, “Who can this be, that even the

But people were always asking that question.

Who is this?

Because:

Astonished and amazed

Angry at his unmitigated audacity and authority

Luke 4:17–22 AV

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. (Today, this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing

In other words religion is not just about by and by....

They could not connect the dots between His origen and His outcome.

What was really paralyzing this brother is the stigma of other folks determining who he is.

In his last week as he made His way into Jerusalem

“Who gave you this authority”

Matthew 21:23 AV

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

Who is this

If you really want to know who someone is, be with them when their in a storm.

“You know Rev. as long as your right I’m with you”

I have a God who’s with me through the storm

Is there anybody who’s ever looked up and said, “Thank you for just hanging out with me”

“Even when I would have given up on myself”

So, Jesus was with them in the storm

Before the storm there was instruction

What they are really asking here is what they willl ask later when they say “Who is this”

They are asking about the character of the one who rides with them in the boat.

Who is this, who can sleep on a pillow in the middle of the storm.

The good news is that Jesus was on the boat

But you ought to ask yourself why is Jesus in the back o fthe boat.

A lot of folks have jesus on the boat but they have marginalized Him!

But when they found themselves in the storm, they went to the back of the boat and asked Him, Master do you care that we perish.

You ought to wake up Jesus even when the sun is shining......

You ought to call His name

Every Sunday morning you ought to be in the house of the lord saying

I was glad when they said unto me, let us go unto the house of the Lord

When I think of the good ness of Jesus.....

Because they are in trouble, they decide to waske up Jesus.
