Grumblings
Grumblings
The whole congregation of the people grumbled. You know we come before the Lord and pray our petitions before God as a congregation. You know there were people who did not grumble, right? But God hears us as a congregation and He speaks to us as a whole. Notice also that they grumble against Moses and Aaron.
People often turn against those that they follow, but God hears and responds to their cry. Grumblings are prayers because it is in the depths of our sufferings that we finally cry out. Ask yourself this, “How many of these people gave thanks, when they had their mouths full?” We always grumble in comparison to another time in our lives. If you look at the situation in Egypt you will surely find that they were abused and afflicted. Do you ever think that at times, the cure is going to kill us?
We deal all the time with leaders of our core not being able to rely on congregants to show up and serve. What they often hear is , “not me”, I have served my time. The Hebrew people suffered, at the hand of the Egyptians, for over 400 years, and yet when God brings them out, they begin to belly-ache about being better off in days past.

4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I am going to rain bread from heaven for you, and each day the people shall go out and gather enough for that day. In that way I will test them, whether they will follow my instruction or not.

12 “I have heard the complaining of the Israelites; say to them, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall have your fill of bread; then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ”

13 In the evening quails came up and covered the camp; and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp.

15 When the Israelites saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.
Now here comes the issue!
16 This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Gather as much of it as each of you needs, an omer to a person according to the number of persons, all providing for those in their own tents.’ ” The Lord gives us instructions. Why do you think this is necessary?
