Give us this day, our daily Bread

Have you ever thought that the Bread in this prayer is not just a physical Bread, Food for your body, but rather the Spiritual Bread, the Bread of Life, Jesus Himself? If this is the case then when we pray the Lord’s Prayer we are asking for daily interaction with Christ.
If this is the case, there there is a delightful little warning in our reading today., and that's this: Our faith is not about what we can get from Jesus.
How often do we treat our faith, and religion as a means to an end, as something we do in order to gain something for ourselves. WE either gain community, eternal life, health, salvation, for our team to win that sports game, to lose a few pounds, to gain something in some way shape form or fashion, that suits our desires.
So, today, after Jesus has fed the 5000, He tells those hungry people, you really need to examine your intentions, because you should not be following me because you think you can get something from me, be it a full belly, the ability to walk, see, hear, or even to be raised from the dead. Jesus calls us out on our selfish reasons for following Him.
Yes, this means that we still need to be called out to this day.
Is your faith in Jesus there because of a desire to gain something in return. Jesus does not want our faith for this reason. Some commentators divide Jesus’ ministry into 3 stages, inauguration, popular, and finally opposition.
