PUT IT ON!

The Belt:

   ‒-  of Truth

   ‒-  covers the abdomen seat of Emotion

   ‒-  Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth and the life...” John 14:6

The Breastplate

   ‒  of Righteousness

   ‒  Covers the heart seat of Volition

   ‒  We are in Christ Jesus who is “...our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” 1 Cor. 1:30

Shoes

   ‒  readiness of the Gospel of Peace

   ‒  Shoes keep us from Slipping

   ‒  “He himself is our peace...” Eph.2:14

The Shield

   ‒  of Faith

   ‒  Puts out the Flaming Arrows of the evil one.

   ‒  the leather shield was soaked in water

   ‒  “fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith...” (Heb. 12:2)

The Helmet

   ‒  of Salvation

   ‒  Protects the head, the seat of Reason.

   ‒  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 (NIV)

The Sword

   ‒  of the Spirit

   ‒  which is the (spoken) Word of God

   ‒  the only part of the armor that can be used offensively.

   ‒  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. John 1:14a (NIV)

   ‒  The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isa. 40:8 (NIV)

And Pray

   ‒  in the Spirit

   ‒  on all occasions

   ‒  with all kinds of prayers and requests

   ‒  always pray for all the Saints.

   ‒  This battle is spiritual and must be waged spiritually.

   ‒  Prayer is not merely preparation for battle, prayer is the battle. (More next week).

The Bottom Line:

Although we live in a Hostile environment, God’s armor will Protect us who Wear it.
