Welcome & Greeting:
Matthew 6:27–34 ESV
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Think about how God cared for the Israelites in the desert?
Look at the Lord’s Prayer. (vss7-13)

Let your realm be a covering for my coming & going
Give/provide/care
Forgive (don’t let my selfish ways interfere and intervene)
Protect (lead me not) deliver from the power of evil
Setting of prayer is in the confines of a sacred space among friends.
The lasting image of living by faith—moving throughout our day with empty bags. Not focusing on what you don’t have, but anticipating how God will provide exactly what you need and in the process how will you be freed to be an ambassador and living example of the kingdom of God
The Lord’s Prayer is a basic and beautiful rubric of moving in and through life. Of living by faith.
And is a perfect reminder of reorienting or way of thinking and being, not around the kingdom of self, but the kingdom of God.
