What is the strongest team you know?
Spurs work as a team
A lot of people working together can accomplish great things
This is no different from a YOUTH group
What are the essential characteristics needed for a strong youth group

Yielded

Romans 12:1–2 ESV
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Place your heart in God’s hands
Be totally surrendered to Him
Be willing to go anywhere
Be willing to do anything

Optomistic

Proverbs 4:23 ESV
Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
Satan is trying to get your heart…don’t allow him to get it
Keep your heart
Have a gracious attitude towards people
Be eager to get to church
Be eager to serve

Unified

1 Peter 3:8–9 ESV
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
Have unity not uniformity
No cliques
Reach out to others
Don’t let age separate us
Don’t let anything separate us

Trustworthy

Proverbs 28:6 ESV
Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.
Never compromise the name of Jesus
Never do anything that would bring reproach to your testimony
Love God and love others…this is the first step to being trustworthy

Hungry

Psalm 42:6 ESV
and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
Psalm 42:1 ESV
As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.
NOT what you think
more than anything else, thirst after God!
Talk to Jesus before you talk to anyone else
Pray and read your Bible throughout the day
Allow God to change your hearts into good works

Conclusion

So right now, are you living out these attributes?
are you allowing God to change your heart so that you can have these attributes?
God wants to use this Youth Group for great things, and if we work together through God’s power we can do great things!
