7. WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE?
TEXT: “Who is on the Lord’s side?” ().
THEME: Israel’s defection ().
INTRODUCTION: There are just two sides, the Lord’s and Satan’s.
Each of us is on one or the other.
We declare our position by our confession, “I delight to do Thy will.”
We sing it in our hymns:
Have thine own way, Lord,
Have thine own way.
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me, after Thy will …
Hold o’er my being absolute sway.
Fill with Thy Spirit, till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.
When we are on the Lord’s side:
I.
He imparts the vision—the plans, the blueprints (; ).
II.
He defines the task (; ; ).
III.
He supplies the power; He who is all power, the Holy Spirit, comes upon me and into me (; ; ).
IV.
He gives the victory (; , ; ; ).
CONCLUSION: My part is wholly yielded—to be, to go, to do.
Keep the “hot line” to heaven always in perfect condition and use it without ceasing.
Trust and obey.
Walk, and keep on walking, in love and in the Spirit.
