2 Timothy 2:24–26 ESV

God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

patiently enduring evil - having shown kindness and love, taught the Word of God and not getting the right response. Someone who is quarrelsome cannot be kind and patiently endure evil. You’re not concerned about your own pride or hurt but rather driven by the love for them. Not concerned about defending himself but rather defending God’s truth.
