Ron: I don’t like animals, but I love Karly. In our vows, I said I promise to love the cats you love. And I have…mostly.

Just like I love Karly by loving her cats, there’s an idea in Scripture that we love God by loving his people.

Review: Romans so far has been all about being right with God. The world is broken, but God has provided a way through Jesus: his death and his resurrection, for all people. Those who have faith get new life through the Spirit of God.

This should lead us to worship God.

Worship God by loving others

Worship of God means giving him your whole life. It means changing things about you act each and every day so that you are following Jesus and not the world. Sports, family, insta?

But here’s the thing. He’s talking about worship and giving your whole life to God and he immediately goes into the way we treat each other.

The main way we follow the world is by treating others badly.

Verse 9: Don’t just pretend. We pretend a lot.

You know how this works: You and your little brother are wrestling and punching each other and your parents come and you’re helping him with his homework.

Humility is hard. Humility is massively important. One of the main reasons that we don’t love others is because we think we’re better.

How can we be more humble? By thinking about how much we need God.
