Hows it going everyone?! I hope you guys had an amazing day? what were some of your favourite parts of the day? First things first, during the beginning of this ill be asking you guys a number of different questions. so to start Let me tell you i love the food here, who else loves the food here? yea its pretty great. For me personally i love food. Food is one of those things that i can always go to. I eat when im happy, sad, mad. But by far my favourite kind of food is Mexican, i just love the spice. Just like kinger with his fried chicken im the same way with Mexican. Even if it is somewhat fake mexican i will go for it. But the thing with mexican sometimes you have to pay the price for eating spicy mexican. You just get the rumbles and you know you just got to sprint to the washroom. Who likes Mucho Burrito? That is a prime example of when mexican fires back at you

We

We all have these things in our lives that we just love so much. You dont have to say anything, how would you explain love in your life? what does love mean to you? it could be with anything. I just told you i love mucho burrito. it could be that kind of love or a love for an object or person. Love can mean a whole lot of different things for different people. We all love different things to a different extent because we are different. Do you think you would ever sacrifice something for something better? Like do you think you would ever sacrifice some time on your video game to be with your family and just hang out? i personally had to ask this question because i loved being by myself. But i sacrifices my alone time to spend more time for something better like my family because i love them more then anything else i could be doing. Especially now that i dont live in calgary anymore, any time that i get to hang out with them and spend talking with them, i would take that above anything else. I love my family, but the thing is i still struggle with that with God. I still struggle give him the time he deserves. and i feel like there are some people here that are in the same boat. Even though i Love God, i still stray.

God

In the bible there is a section in that Jesus is teaching a man named Nicodemus and as he goes on, there is a section that is used all the time in Christianity. It is probably one of the most used verses in the bible and that is , and that say For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, for whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. So this is adding onto what i said this morning on how Jesus said he was the life. Jesus came down to earth to take the sins of everyone so that they can spend eternity with Him. And in this scripture, you remember how it said “for god so Loved”? Yea the word loved is one of four meanings of love in the bible. the first one is Storge Love, and this love is an empathy bond. so this is a love that is like a councillor to a client, where they understand how they are feeling even though it didnt happen to them personally. The next is a Philia Love which is a friend bond, so take your best friend that you say you love them, this is the type of love that you two have. Next is Eros love, this is a type of love that is intimate love, so when you guys get married like deuce and Coach this is the type of love that will come from that. and lastly is Agape love. Agape love is a love that is from god that is unconditional. The kind of love that will never give upon you, the kind of love that God comes down to earth to take the sins of many because he wants his people to spend eternity with him. But the thing is, we normally stop after that because it is a nice happy verse, so why continue, But for me personally, verse 17 is just as impactful. and it says, “For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” This is a very impactful verse, because we sometimes look at god as being a condemning God, but he is such a loving God. God loves each and every one of you .

Storge—empathy bond.

Philia—friend bond.

Eros—erotic bond.

Agape—unconditional "God" love.

For God has such Agape love for you, that he sent his son to that you may live forever with him. You just have to believe in him. Some of you may have this idea that God is a mean god because of all the bad things that have happened but he loves you so much. There is a Father God that will go to the ends of the earth to be with you. And that is where the song Reckless Love comes from, on how God will stop at nothing to chase after your heart. Just like the shepherd left his 99 sheep to go look for the one. And you know what the amazing thing is, we are that one in the story. God wants us to be safe with him. But like i asked last night, what is getting in your way? What is getting in the way of you accepting God’s agape love that he is giving us freely? It can be the littlest thing or it can be big. Whether it could just be the weeds we talked about last night, or it could be the fact of that you don’t understand that kind of love because you aren’t use to it at home. It can be hard understanding that your heavenly father loves you so much when you don’t have that love at home. This may not apply to all of you but for some it might. And i don’t to push some sensitive buttons but its just a part of life. But i want all of you to know, there is a Father God that love you so unconditionally that us as humans can’t even fully understand it. If the band can come back up, we are going to sing Reckless love again, because the words ring so true in the Love that God wants to share with all of us.

We are here for each other, If you want to know more about this love just ask your cabin leaders or any of us staff. We want you to get to a point where you want to experience this love, we don’t want to brain wash you because this is a you decision that no one else can make you do. We don’t believe that we can make you follow Jesus, this is a conversation you have with God and if you want a leaders help you can go up to them. But this is something you have to decide on your own. God wants you to experience his love personally. So if you are wanting this just stick your hands out like this and allow God to give you this gift, so as the band leads us in this song, just think of what the words are saying and let it ring true to what you want. I dont want you to just sing because its a nice song, i want you to believe it for yourself, dont allow it to become christian karaoke. So as they are leading us, just stick out your hands as a sign of i am ready for you, and i want you. And If you want to recieve and believe Jesus im sure your cabin leaders would love to help you do that. So go for it band.
