Locker Story
Walking through the hallways at a middle where I work, I saw a new substitute teachere standing ourside his classroom with his forehead agains the locker. I heard him mutter “How did you get yourself into this?”
Knowing he was assigned to a difficult class, I tried to offer moral support. “Are you okay?” I asked. “Can I help?”
He lifted his head and replied, “Ill be fine as soon as I get this kid out of his locker.”
Teaching in Prison
A friend was assigned a new post teaching English to inmates in prison. Feeling a little nervous on his first day, he began by asking the class a basic question:
“Now, who can tell me what a sentence is?”
Who here has taken the DNA test for your families genealogy?
Who here has taken the DNA test for your families genealogy?
There are many people in this church who have taken the test and have come back with some interesting information.
For example, did you know we have two different families that have “Vikings” as a part of there DNA.
What does it help for someone to know there history?
History is important it helps us to know where we have come from, helps us to understand why we act the way we do, why some of the medical problems we have, and helps us to understand what we have to overcome.
PAG Discovery
PAG Discovery
For the past 13 months we have been looking at History to help us with our future.
History has helped us discover who we are and why God has placed us here.
You can’t change who you are, you have to discover it.
To me the best question we can ask is “God why did you plant PAG in Perry Oklahoma?
In order for us to do this then we had to put our own agendas away and seek Gods agenda!
I believe God wants us to walk in the strongest anointing and that anointing is not about one person, but a Body!
Unity is the Strongest Anointing
Unity is the Strongest Anointing
How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.
Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.
Psalm 133:1-
When we know what God has called us to then we can walk in the highest anointing, the anointing that gives everlasting life.
Tweaking our Vision Statement
Tweaking our Vision Statement
Because we know we are called to live in unity we have to understand what brings us together. What brings us together is our values.
Values is our personality that does not change, it is what makes us unique.
So we “tweaked” our vision statement to say:
We are a family connecting people to a life-changing relationship with God.
WE
FAMILY
All of us in this place is created to be apart of the FAMILY, and Jesus is the head of the Family.
Family Gathering
Family Gathering
No longer will our Sunday Services be called Sunday Services-they are now called
FAMILY GATHERINGS
Every Sunday morning we are going to gather as a family to worship God with freedom. We are going to connect with one another, and we are going to people find a life transforming relationship with God.
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
II Corinthians 5:
This is our families focus!
