God disciplines out of love because he knows that if we are left without discipline, then we will bring more mysery on ourselves than his gentle hand of discipline. Now we must soak this in that whenever we face trouble or affliction there is nothing punitive in it we must never say “God is punishing me for my sin” God does not do that and when we talk that way it is because we have become weak in our faith. God is disciplining you and not punish you, he is correcting you and straightening your path not smiting you by his wrath.
