Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Believe!
Folks don’t act on what they believe.
Believing makes no difference at all when it comes to your health.
Doing makes the difference.
Having a partner makes a difference as well.
It’s easier to talk your self out of it when nobody is counting on you.
Accountability counts
Believes
Believers don’t always act on what we believe.
Everyone doesn’t forgive, put others first, love each other, etc.
Act on what you believe.
Follow
You can’t follow Jesus in isolation. It is a team sport, it is a family thing.
Paul spent his earlier life trying to tear down the church and the remainder of his life planting churches. Paul emphasized that this was a relational thing in reference to serving Jesus.
The One Another List
Forgive one another
Accept one another
Care for one another
Encourage one another
Submit to one another
Restore one another
Carry one another
Bear one another
You can’t do any of this alone.
You can’t just believe privately, you have to act publicly.
Your faith can’t just be vertical.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Hebrews 10:
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Stir each other up. Have a relationship with each other in such a way that you have access to stir, provoke one another toward love and good deeds.
You need someone in your life who is actually spurring you on.
It’s so hard to do this by yourself.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
You can’t afford to stop meeting together were you can spur one another.
There is a divinely designed correlation between community and faithfulness.
Lack of relationships can and has caused people to drift.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
I am as close as you will ever get in this life to seeing the Father.
Paul comes along and says that the church is the body of Christ. That we collectively are as close as it gets to the Father in Heaven.
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
How we treat each other is how we treat Jesus.
If we isolate from each other, we will eventually isolate ourselves from Jesus.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Faith comes alive in community.
People who think they’re better than other people haven’t taken the time to hear the stories of the people they think they’re better than.
Hearing a person’s story is what brings us together. It’s what connects us.
Together, right here, there are no titles, positions, just people who are and have faced tremendous challenges in life and feel the sense to belong to something that gives them the strength and happiness to press on and continue to live.
When we hear other people’s stories, it deflates our egos, activates our faith, and gives us a deep sense of compassion.
The author says “I can’t believe some of you stopped meeting together with other believers. What are you thinking? You can’t do the solo. It was divinely designed to be a one another thing.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
E
Encourage: To instill courage in someone.
If you are going to follow Jesus, you have to come together and live this out with one another.
Who have you encouraged?
Who has encouraged you?
Is there anyone in your life spurring you on to live out your life?
